AQUA PLANET
“Aqua”symbolizes the grandeur of the sea and
the harmony between marine science and human beings,
while “Planet” symbolizes the excitement of exploring the sea
—which is as fascinating as an outer space planet
—with the latest science.

<Aqua Planet Yeosu> is the second
largest aquarium in Korea and
is located near Quay 2 of Yeosu New Port in Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do.
<Aqua Planet Yeosu> is the first aboveground aquarium
(4 levels) in Korea.
Designated as a main viewing facility for the EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea,
<Aqua Planet Yeosu> is an “eco-friendly aquarium”
run by photovoltaic power generation.
It offers differentiated spaces for experience
and exhibition on each level,
such as “Ocean Life,”“Marine Life”, and “Aqua Forest.”
There are around 4,000 marine organisms of approx.
300 species including rare animals such as the
“Beluga (white whale)” and “Baikal seal”.
